How an organisation talks about its work signals its commitment to putting people at the centre of everything it does.

Brief

Develop an illustration set to explain concepts to the public and provide an option where photography wasn’t available.

Rationale

I built the concept around who the organisation is and how it wants to be perceived: inclusive & accessible (non-human skin tones, rounded forms that read as approachable), intelligent & positive (no facial features, so no single emotion is imposed on a concept), and proactive (figures always in motion, leading the story). This translated into non-human skin colour, rounded forms, active poses, smaller heads than bodies (character led by emotion, words carrying the rational message), and long limbs always in movement.

Impact

The illustration set remains in active use today across the organisation’s communications.
